Build your career somewhere that cares about the details.

FROM THE OWNER

The kind of shop we're building

Central Oak was created to offer something different from the loud, rushed, and unpredictable barbershop experience.

We believe a great barbershop should feel calm, welcoming, professional, and intentional. Clients should feel expected when they walk through the door. Barbers should feel proud of the room they work in and supported as they build their careers.

We care about great haircuts, but we also care about everything surrounding the haircut: the greeting, the consultation, the timing, the cleanliness, the communication, and the energy of the room.

We are rebuilding our team thoughtfully. That means taking the time to find people who genuinely align with what Central Oak is becoming — not simply filling an empty chair.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

A different kind of barbershop environment

Calm, appointment-focused days

We use thoughtful scheduling and clear systems to reduce chaos, protect the client experience, and help the workday run more predictably.

A client-first culture

Clients should feel welcomed, remembered, communicated with, and taken care of from the moment they enter the shop.

A professional standard

We care about punctuality, consultations, presentation, cleanliness, communication, and consistent service.

Space to grow

We want barbers to continue improving their technical skills, communication, personal brand, rebooking, retention, and long-term career.

A community-first shop

Central Oak is an inclusive and welcoming environment. We serve a diverse clientele and want every person who enters the shop to feel respected and safe.

Thoughtful leadership

Expectations are communicated clearly. Feedback is intended to help people improve, not embarrass or micromanage them.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Who Thrives at Central Oak

Central Oak is a good fit for barbers who want more than an open chair.

The people who thrive here care about their craft, but they also care about the experience surrounding the haircut. They understand that professionalism is reflected in how they communicate, how they maintain their space, how they treat clients, and how they contribute to the room.

Central Oak may not be the right environment for someone looking for a temporary landing place, a completely hands-off workplace, or a shop expected to provide a full clientele without personal effort.

We provide a thoughtful environment, a respected local brand, professional systems, community visibility, and support for growth. In return, we are looking for barbers who bring reliability, maturity, initiative, and care.

You do not need to be perfect or have everything figured out.

You do need to be dependable, coachable, self-aware, and committed to becoming better.

The barbers who thrive at Central Oak help make the shop feel stronger, calmer, more professional, and more trustworthy for everyone who walks through the door.

CANDIDATE PROFILES

There may be a place for you here

Central Oak is open to speaking with barbers at different stages, while maintaining high standards.

The established barber

You have an existing clientele but miss being part of a team. You want a polished, welcoming shop environment without the isolation of working alone.

The growing barber

You have a solid technical foundation and are actively building your clientele. You are coachable, consistent, and ready to become stronger in both your craft and client experience.

The experienced stylist moving into barbering

You are confident with haircutting and client care and want to expand further into short hair, clipper work, barbering, or a modern gender-neutral service environment.

Experience is valuable, but alignment, professionalism, and willingness to grow will always be part of the decision.
